Second chances?! Nah

"If I got rid of my demons,
                                              I'll loose my angels too"
I know it's been a minute since I've been here but y'all this school ish is the realest.. Like the struggle is super real but nothing I can't handle (this is where you say Amen if you didn't already). However, had this convo with a good friend ( MM) and something struck me that I just had to write about. We were talking about birthdays and 'old age' and wondering what we would have done different if given the chance...At that point it hit me when I thought Yeah! I made some pretty dumb choices in the past and it will be great to be given a chance to erase them and make them better but then due to those dumb choices I grew into this awesome (yes I think i'm awesome, if I don't who else will?) lady because of the lessons I learnt from those experiences. I built my resilience towards things that happen in life and I know my WORTH.  If I went back and changed everything, I would not have grown into who I am..I will be way less experienced and less confident in what I can handle. So the question is, do I want to have all my mistakes erased and still be a learner (get it? lol) ? Or do I want to remain the phenominal person I'm growing into? My answer: The latter! I wouldn't change a damn thing! Yes, some experiences were pretty bad but I made it and I'm still here..And I learnt and I grew and now I know waaaay better.

All I'm really saying is, everything happens for a reason. Instead of looking back and worrying about the 'why nots' look on the bright side and trust!! Most times it doesn't look like there's a bright side but I assure you ,there is. Once you get your mind off worrying and think of ways to get ahead you'll notice it. If life didn't have ups and downs, you'll be dead . Don't believe me ask a doctor! Life is the gift that keeps on giving!

So now back to that quote...Does it make sense now?! Sorta? Just a little bit? The first time I saw it was when my friend and sister Cynthia had it as her status on Whatsapp (She still does actually) and I thought, "that is so trueeee!". Ever since it's been at the back of my mind. My simple understanding of it is; if I lost those experiences, I'll loose the good I got out of it as well and I'm better off with the good. Plus, if the experiences didn't happen, this blog won't exist :)

So appreciate the good and the bad in life and remember no situation is permanent. It's not the end of the world until it is.

We each have our interpretations of things! I'll sure love to hear yours.

  1. This is an amazing piece and I feel flattered being mentioned *fans self*. We share the same view on this. How i see it is - no regrets, just lessons learned. Try looking back while moving forward, you just might step in a puddle.

  2. Tee...It's the first time I read your article and I just wanted to let you know that you're doing a great job and I really liked your advice about life which says that, "No Condition is Permanent". You might not know but what you do put a smile on so many people's faces, so once more thank you.
