Amigos!

"Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are"

I do not know the author of this saying but having been to boarding school I heard it quite a lot. I also believed it to be very true up until now. I still somehow think it true for example; if you were friends with only nerds, chances are you begin to show nerd-like qualities. But let me tell you why I now look at this statement and doubt it.

I have been blessed beyond measure with the most amazing friends. I know quite a lot of people but real friends, I can count on the tip of my fingers. My friends are people with big caring hearts who see potential in me even when I don't. I am a hard person to deal with so it amazes me that they do put up with me and love me as much as they do. I don't know what I did to deserve it but i'm just going to keep being me cause apparently its working :).

World Wonders!

It is my goal to be so well to do that I can afford to take a vacation (I mean a really good vacay) every year. So with that in mind you know I started to think of where i'd want to go/ what i want to see. Besides countries that I will most definitely visit (New post idea ;) ) I set out to look for places that were different or allow me to say surreal. And boy do we live in a beautiful place! So I came up with this list...! Maybe I'll make it to all of them and maybe I won't but I still just put those that stood out to me here :)

PS: I need to start on that money making process pronto.

~STYLE~

Fashion fades                                                                            Simplicity is
But style is eternal                                                                     the ultimate sophistication
                                     - Yves St. Laurent                                                                - Leornado Da vinci

I'm not (too) crazy about fashion trends but I am about style especially when its simple yet classy also when its different (janelle monae kinda different not let me match the rainbow different lol). Some people could really just wear jeans and a t-shirt and it looks effortless and I love that! It doesn't have to be too much or too flashy..Less really is more.  If God so bless I need me a guy with some kinda fashion sense. There's just something about a guy/lady who can dress. Agree?

Fashion can be bought.

Embrace YOU!

~Love yourself or no one else will~

It's no secret that we tend to look for flaws within ourselves and that we're our own worst critics. At least I am!  We always find something that we don't like and even catch ourselves saying, "I'm not good enough, not beautiful enough, not smart enough." And then you somehow muster up the bright idea that maybe after two months of working out or after that the acne is gone you'll start loving yourself. What we fail to understand is we have to start NOW. Not in two months or a year NOW. You need to see that you're a wonderful person now if not those two months will not give you the satisfaction you are looking for, it will only progress from one thing to the other.

The happiest people are those who are content with who they are. Society always has something to say about appearances but if we already embrace our flaws and love ourselves then whatever they say will never affect us.

What is wrong with society???!

Howdy folks!

Just got back from church (Praise!!!) and i'm inspired so i'm about to preach :). Side note: I envy writers cause of their creative minds and their ability to engage their readers....I on the other hand, am not a writer so when I get the slightest glitch to write, I do..Cause 2 hours down the line it'll be gone LOL.

We always look around us and see something wrong either with the world or what someone is doing. Its always just something that could be done better. And then we judge! A cousin of mine will always criticize/judge peoples actions whenever we were together and so one day I asked her "why do you always do that?" and her response to me was, "Someone out there is judging me too so i'm returning the favor." As funny as that answer was it did have a whole lot of truth to it. People talk about people. Its what people do. People will always judge people. Its what WE do. You know you've looked at someone and been like; "that shirt is not working"or seen someone at a position you wanted and you're like; "There's no way he got that over me fairly". To one person, 'twerking' is what is wrong with the world and to another processed food is. The answers vary over a very wide range.

Poetry kinda day!

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Thought i'd share!

Food for thought!

Incase you haven't noticed from my post i'm TEAM POSITIVE! i might sound depressed at times or most times but its just the spur of the moment (you-know-you-know-what-i'm-talking-about)...anyways all i'm saying is read this;
A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired:”How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”

It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

I'm guessing you already know about the half-empty, half-full concept..incase you don't let me put it in my way.
The optimist sees a glass half filled with water and says; "its half-full" mainly because he has hopes of it getting to the brim... meanwhile the pessimist on the other hand says; "its half-empty" cause well he's given up on life and has no faith whatsoever.....Where do you fall?

And before i forget...HAPPY EASTER LOVES
Christ is risen!

Making a difference!

I am in love with this kid!!! He might be little but he sure as heck makes a solid point. If we were all awesome and danced life will be a cool place...! I watched all his videos and to think he's a sick kid. People with deformations somehow manage to make the most of the world. 'Normal' folks really just sit there and watch it go by....Something unbelievably strange about that....

His attack on Josh Growban absolutely gorgeous!

Another person who's life totally amazed me!
Nick Vujicic: He is a motivational speaker and travels round the world talking to people mostly youths! And he is a believer!!! How someone in his position conquered his outer appearance and shone from within beats my imagination! Incase you didn't notice his wife is gor-geous!

So beloved readers! clearly you're grown and have all your limbs intact or atleast most...What are you doing or planning on doing to make a change? It doesn't have to be big...Volunteering, feeding a homeless guy etc something small.....There's a saying "God will bless you publicly for the good you do behind close doors" (i might have changed the words a little but the message is thesame :) )

Be awesome!

you planned and failed?? still move on!

As usual i was bitching about my life to a very dear of mine Koryn. Today she gave me a quote that has totally changed my perspective of everything. Hope it does for you too if you're a planner like me.

I am a PLANNER!!!!! i always need to have everything in place. The kind of girl who makes good use of her post its and phone calender! LOL... i'm proud of that but i never realized that i shouldn't be too keen on it. For example; i plan on having you know say a B in an exam and it ends up being a C or i planned to go to the mall on friday but couldn't cause my ride got caught up with something else. I get pissed knowing fully well that i can't change what just happened. So bottom line i crack under pressure when things don't go the way i want.. Perfectionist much? We can say that!

Now with the quote "What screws us up so much in life is the way we always want and plan life to be."
The life we are living in is a film put together by God. He alone can make the changes and he alone knows the next script. Now if things don't go the way we want, plan yet again and move on. Don't stay stuck at the crossroad cause the train broke down infront you. Cross that railroad at the front of the train! (totally just pulled that out of nowhere ;) ).  People like me stay pondering on the reasons as to why that didn't work out as we planned....using up time that we would have used to come up with a different plan. Nobody knows why you missed that plane..It could have crashed! I know you were tryna go to your sisters wedding but would you rather be dead or be alive to attend her 10th wedding anniversary?? and you miss that plane 10 years later yet again then plan on attending the 20th one keeping in mind other options such as buses, ships, trains etc....(i hope you get the drift).

Life was never meant to be perfect. Reason why we don't exactly wake up to a kiss from a prince charming who slayed a dragon to find us. So yes so far life hasn't gone the way i wanted. but i'm growing towards accepting the fact that its OK! I know God has not forgotten me for now its someone else's time, MY TIME WILL COME. Like the french say; "Chacun son tour chez le coiffeur"

Hope i helped out a soul like mine out there :)
Peace&Love
